He Didn't Mean Anything

This is the the time where I usually know.

This time is different. 

You barely mean something to me.

It's been two months.

We talk everyday.

But it hasn't changed anything.

On the outside I care.

On the outside I don't.

Even now I thought I was possibly falling for you.

That I might have feelings.

That day you were I didn't feel anything. 

I wasn't attached.

I wanted to feel something but I didn't. 

Now you know how I feel

Love isn't something you can force... There will be many people in life that seem to be the one on the outside, but on the inside are nothing more then men who just didn't have that x-factor. i like the directness and the brutal efficiency of this honest piece of prose. i am not familiar with the song you mention in your note but i am sure it is a real kicker. i don't understand how you "want" to fall for someone...it just happens or doesn't in my experience. maybe it's a generational thingy. i am in my 50's.....anyway, very, very good write.
