Episode Eleven: It's Official

Episode Eleven:

SCENE ONE: Amanda knocks on the door of Kiera’s apartment.  Amanda is holding Tupperware containing food. Amanda knocks.

Amanda: Kiera! (knock.) Kiera! (knock)

No answer.  Amanda reaches into her bag, and gets out a key, and opens the door. No lights are on. Amanda moves inside and puts the food on the table.

Amanda: Kiera?

Amanda walks and sees someone on the floor, and sees it is Kiera.  Amanda gasps.

Amanda: Kiera! Kiera!

Amanda hovers over her, and gently shakes her. Kiera looks up at her. Amanda breathes in a sigh of relief.

Amanda: Thank heavens.

Kiera: What are you doing here? (Kiera sits up)

Amanda: I was worried. I made you some soup, and I just had a feeling…are you okay?

Kiera: (rubs her eyes and stares)

Amanda: Are you okay?

Kiera continues to not look at Amanda. Amanda looks at her, and sits down by her.

Amanda: Kiera..what’s wrong?

Kiera: (sighs) I’m pregnant.

Amanda: (gasps) No!

Kiera: (nods)

Amanda: How far along " ?

Kiera: I don’t know. I haven’t seen a doctor yet.

Amanda: You need to see one.

Kiera: I know.

Amanda: Wow..pregnant…

Kiera: Yup. That's the Circle of Life.

Amanda: Wow…so who else knows?

Kiera: Out of all of our friends. Just you.

Amanda: Wow. What about your parents?

Kiera: (sighs) They know. My mom was here taking care of me, until I forced her to leave.

Amanda: (in a shocked voice) W-Why would you do that?

Kiera: Family problems. Look it’s fine. I’ll apologize soon.

Amanda: Well what can I do? Maybe I can help.

Kiera: (holds her hand up) Don’t worry about it. How are you?

Amanda: I’m fine I guess.

Kiera: How’s it with Jake?

Amanda: (Shrug)

Kiera:  You should tell him you like him.

Amanda: I don’t know.

Kiera: Are you not over Dylan?

Amanda: (shrugs) I am I just…I don’t think I should be anyone for now…I need to just take care of myself.

Kiera stares at the floor.

Amanda: Are you gonna be okay?

Kiera: (shakes her head) With everything? No…not for awhile.

 

Gwen is pacing back and forth and hears a knock at her door. She opens it and lets Chandler in.

Chandler: Hey

Gwen: Hi

Chandler: So

Gwen: About today…

Chandler waits.

Gwen fidgets with her hands.

Gwen: Yes.

Chandler: (shocked face) Y-Yes?

Gwen: (soft voice) Yes.

 

 

Chandler and Gwen enter his apartment. Everyone is there watching a new released movie. Everyone looks up. 

Andrew: Hey Chandler! Hey Gwen!

Chandler: Hi

Chandler is holding Gwen’s hand.

Chandler: Everyone, I uh. I have announcement.

Jake stands up while Andrew pauses the T.V.

Jake: We know. This is the girlfriend.

Kiera’s face turns white.

Chandler: Well. Sorta.

Everyone’s face is confused now.

Jessie: Sorta?

Amanda: What’s going on Chandler?

Chandler: (turns to Gwen) Gwen this is everyone. (he starts pointing to everyone) Jake. Andrew. Kiera. Jessie. Amanda.  Everyone this is Gwen. My..finacee

The room becomes silent.

Jessie: This is crazy.

Jake: Chandler what the…

Andrew: So much can happen in two days.

Chandler: Look, I know this is unsual but..I love her. Gwen for some reason feels the same. (he smiles at 

her) We’re getting married. This Friday. July 16^th.

Amanda looks at Kiera.

Kiera is biting her lip, and keeping her face blank.

Chandler: It’s crazy I know but…you’re all my friends. I’d like for you to support me and come to my wedding. Jake. Drew. I’d like you to be my best men. (he looks at the girls) I want you in the wedding 

too. Gwen hasn’t made any friends, and I know she’d like to have bridesmaids…

Jake: You’re getting married in three days?

Andrew: Can you even plan an entire wedding in three days?

Jessie: Not really.

Chandler: Well, we’re just getting married at the court house, and well. The dresses and everything will be supplied by Gwen’s sister Genvieve.

Gwen: My sister owns a wedding store and she’ll be coming and I already have the colors picked.

Jake: What about reception?

Chandler: We just thought about having it here in the apartment.

Jake: (shakes his head) My dad works with many hotels. I’ll get you a reception room in Maryland.

Chandler: (he lets go of Gwen’s hand) Thank you.

Gwen: Thank you, Jake.

Jake nods.

Amanda: Chandler what about your family? Or families I should say.

Chandler: Already called my father and brother. They’ll be here the night before the wedding.

Jessie: Gwen yours?

Gwen: They should arrive the day of the wedding.

Andrew: (sighs) I can’t believe this is really happening.

Chandler: Me either.

Gwen: Same here. It’s a lot and " (She speaks to the group) I want you to know I’m sorry I haven’t meet any  of you til now, but I..I hope you all like me.

Jessie: I’ll gladly be a bridesmaid for you.

Amanda: I will too. 

Amanda and Jessie hug her.

Everyone looks at Kiera.

Kiera: I can’t move right now, but I…(she looks at Chandler) Kiera thought: Whatever makes Chandler happy. I would like to be a bridesmaid for you Gwen.

Gwen: Thank you.

 

Scene 2:

Chandler. Andrew and Jake are sitting in Chandler and Andrew’s apartment eating Chinese Food and drinking Water.

Andrew: Well. At least you told you now.

Chandler: Yeah.  Man, what are we gonna do about this apartment?

Andrew: I dunno.

Chandler drinks some water and looks at Jake.

Chandler: Jake. How about you? You should take it.

Jake: (swallows a bite) Me? You’re not gonna stay?

Chandler: Nah. Gwen and I are looking for our own place.

Andrew: Why not just move into hers?

Chandler: Two words: One bathroom.

Andrew and Jake nod

Andrew: Gotcha.

Jake: Hm.  Maybe I could.

Andrew: You should move in. You practically live here already.

Jake: (laughs) Yeah that’s true. Alright. I’ll take it.

Chandler pats him on the back.

Jake: (looks at Andrew) You ready to move in with Jessie?

Andrew: Heck no. But it’ll make her happy. 

Jake: You’ll probably like it.

Andrew: Probably.

Chandler: Jake, how’s it going with you Mandy?

Jake: I dunno man. I don’t think things will happen between us.

Chandler: Well if you don’t do anything, of course not. You can’t just…leave it up to fate to do something. You gotta go out and do it!

Andrew: Yeah. Listen to the man who proposed after going on one date.

Chandler: Seriously go out and do something. I know you. You’ve liked her since you met her. Jake it’s been four years. Are you gonna wait another four?

Jake: I don’t know.

 

Jessie, Amanda, and Kiera are sitting in Kiera’s apartment. Kiera is sniffling.  Amanda is patting her.

Jessie: You gonna be okay honey?

Kiera: (in between sobs) No. (cracked voice.) I’m not gonna be okay.

Amanda: (gently squeezes her shoulder) I’m so sorry Kiera.

Kiera: What am I gonna do?

Jessie: We’re right behind you.

Amanda: (nods) That’s right. Whatever you need.

Kiera: I wish. (sniff) I wish I never slept with Chandler. (crying begins again)

Jessie and Amanda hug Kiera, and let her cry until she is soundly asleep.

 

Gwen is on the phone with her mother and father.

Gwen: Why can’t you just support me? At least I keep in contact with you, it’s not like I’m sending you a card that says hi how are you? By the way I met someone and we got married now we’re on our honeymoon to Fuji!

Gwen waits and listens.

Gwen: Genevieve is coming. 

Gwen: Dad, I don’t care if you come or not. I’m inviting you because of manners. Yes mom is coming. She just told me.

Gwen waits and hears her father talking with her mother.

Gwen: You know what Dad? You wanna come. You come. I don’t care. (hangs up)

There is a knock at the door. A woman with brown hair and blue eyes is standing at the door. 

Gwen: Genevieve

Genevieve comes in and sets her bags down.

Gwen: You’re here..early…

Genevieve:  I had a feeling to come after we hung up on the phone.

Gwen: No wonder, I couldn’t get a hold of you.

Genevieve: (nods and looks at Gwen’s hand) You’re engaged.

Gwen: Yeah. Just today.

Genevieve: I figured. I happen to have a store here, so we’ll be able to get some bridesmaids dresses.

Gwen: Only you are here?

Genevieve: Yes. I hope you’re alright with me staying here.

Gwen: It’s not a problem. I just..I was expecting you to bring Marcus and the kids.

Genevieve: It was better for them to stay home. (she says in a cold voice)

Gwen: Alright, well. I don’t really have another room…but my couch it has a pull out bed is that okay?

Genevieve: It’s fine. Thank you.

 

Author's Note

A note for the readers...I love writing this show and I know there are many questions left unaswered...I'd like to remind you all that everything will be revealed in duel time. Believe me as I was writing this I wanted to say "this is why Gwen did this or why Kiera is acting like that" all will be revealed in due time.

Argh! Why won't Kiera say something? Unless you're going to have a "speak now," scene at the altar, that could be interesting . . . Thank you for another thilling chapter in the Dilemma, I really enjoyed reading it! ;D
