I'm Here You're There

A poem about B

My memories are slowly fading away

I try to hold on.

To you and to them.

Today I thought I saw you. 

I froze.

I stared, 

I soon realized it wasn't you.

I know it's only been four months.

But I'm still counting.

It isn't as hard. 

As it was before.

I still think about you. 

I don't wonder what you're doing.

Or if your thinking of me.

I think about how things use to be.

I relive memories everyday.

I think about what life could be like when you finally come home.

You're over there.

Working hard. 

I miss you dearly.

While I'm here at home

Trying to keep busy.

The days are easier. 

But when I come home it's alittle harder.

But I know soon the wait will be over.

Soon I'll see your face.

Soon I'll hear your voice.

Soon I'll be home.

Because your arms are my home. 

And right now I am homesick

this poem spoke to me... i have the guy im seeing who is in the military and i dont get to see him often... i hate it, and it breaks my heart to know that he may never come home (the one thing i cannot help but to think about). i miss him and love him and know that hopefully ill see him again. this was a great write and i thank you for sharing it with me:) yours truely Danielle
