Savior

Savior

A Poem by fallendemonofmercy
"

the second poem of my bloody pen poems

"

I go to war
With my pen in hand
Leaving all those I adore
Ready to take a stand

For the girl on the corner
To the homeless man down the road
To every loner
And everyone stuck in their safe, humble abode

To all the rich men
Crisp suits, shirts and ties
To the poorest shaman
Living a solitary life, in a mountain cave so high

To the child who has it all
Snap their fingers, give endless commands
To the ones on the streets who fall
Clinging to life by a thin, non existent strand

This is for you

From the oldest of warriors
Legacies past from ear to ear
Adding story upon story
For each generation to hear

I hear it
Even if I don’t want to

It was never my choice
To answer these calls
To give freedom a voice
To lift others when they fall

But I have to

It is my fate
Inspired by hope
Stolen by greed, acted as my bait
To cast my vote

My hand caresses the paper
As I try again
To embrace my own, an undiscovered savior
Before my life draws to an end

And when I finish
Drift away, follow the aurora’s hues
Don’t let your hope diminish
Let it all stay true

I will always love you

Wow, this is amazing. I loved the references, the deep, meaningful words you used to describe everything...Oh, and the detail! Just, utterly amazing =]
