Life's Game

Life's Game

A Poem by fallendemonofmercy
"

the first poem of my bloody pen poems

"

I go to war
With my pen in hand
I’ve been sent on a mission
To protect and defend

I have no side
Quite undecided
Never conceded
But always worth fighting

I love the sport
The blood lust
Falls heavy on the page
As it all has a place
Left for me to rearrange

Turmoil ensues
And the outcome is my choice
Rewrite history
Lie, and cheat and deceive
Or stay true
To what the voices tell me to do

I hear the screams
The strength and the pain
Vibrates in the ink
Leaves a bloody stain

Struggles untold
Secrets to behold
The warrior stands
To fight for another day

One last day

One stroke of the pen
A slash of the blade
Her fate is decided
By my feelings
In this game

She is a pawn
But quite extraordinary
A quiet faun
Far from ordinary
And it comes, to great acclaim
That I care
What happens to this one

So she lives
One my land
Speak one word
And she’s dead

I do not make the rules
I am a piece to the puzzle
Akin to any other
Sent for one purpose

A messenger of the mastermind
Not gentle, or benign
Simply evil, cruel and wicked
Clever and unkind

Pluck and apple from the tree
And see what you get
There is a punishment for every quibble
Though not always fairly met

Life is short
Strength is shorter
Courage is longer
Empathy lasts forever

Do what you will
There is no one to blame
Cradle your head
And fade away

Or take a risk
Make a change

Live for one last day
