Nightmare

a poem about lovers, and the wonder of love and in denying that love how ones relationship can go wrong

 

 

I wake up every morning

And find you next to me

Looking like a prince from a fairytale

My king

 

Today you are missing

And I don’t know what to do

Because I’m lost without you

 

Where could you be?

I’ve searched for you everywhere

Instead, it seems 

You left without a care

 

I fight back the delirium

That has me spinning, sick and wrong

Why won’t you come? 

Where have you gone?      

 

Have I done something wrong?

 

A noise from behind

Distracts my senses

It invades my mind

Pulls away my defenses 

 

I know this voice  

As it whispers in my ear

And I rejoice

As it melts all my fears

 

And it is clear

As I wake, and meet your eyes

That you will always be near

Full of wonder and surprise

 

You take me in your arms

And tell me you love me

That you mean me no harm

 

And I believe it

 

And that this love

Our love

Is meant to

Be

 

For now

I liked the poem, but it was confusing when he left and then when she found out he was there. Maybe just clarify if it was a dream she had where he wasn't there or if she just woke on the wrong side or if he was hiding. Other than that i enjoyed reading this and thought it was well written :]
