Mist

Mist

A Poem by fallendemonofmercy
"

a little something i saw when i was deathly sick and their conversations

"

I think I will die
Godblessed child, do not cry

For everyone has their time
And alas, now it is mine

I have seen a lot
Though I am young

My face marble white
My eyes glassy, sight nearly shot

And I feel as though
Missed I have on none

My lover went first
And has taken my everything

All but you

And now is your time
To continue what I’ve left
Behind

Understand this, my child
For the most holy of wisdom
And purest of magic
Lies within you

As it does all children
For a while

Nothing lasts forever
Can it ever?

The sun sets over the mountains
Casting poisonous hues
All your questions will get answered
When you learn the truth

And defy all life
But never to love

Your love

could this be considered a poem? it doesn't rhyme and i kind of don't want this piece critized because of that - what do you say?

It is peaceful and sad all in one breath. I love how you pulled that off. The cadence of it is so effortless that I don't even notice that it does not rhyme. I also like how you refer to the sunset as "poisonous hues". Never heard that one before, it is in total opposition to what the normal description of a sunset would be. Beautiful piece!

Poetry doesn't have to rhyme. What's more important is a common thread tying together all the elements.

I love it and poems don't always have to rhyme and yes this would be considered as a poem.

Poetry doesn't have to rhyme, and it is still wonderful.
