Kissing Kaleidoscope Eyes

Kissing Kaleidoscope Eyes

A Poem by Alaina
"

a drug Ghazal

"

I want to live in strawberry fields, kiss a girl with kaleidoscope eyes

I want to become the walrus. John can you share your drugs?

I’m sorry if my Tourette’s bothers you,

I seem to have forgotten to take my drugs.

My mother won’t start her day without a cup of coffee.

Many don’t consider caffeine an addictive drug.

Psychedelic art is littered with dancing mushrooms.

My bedroom at thirteen made you think you were on drugs.

Pot eased my grandfather’s arthritis. Why is it I never remember

where my socks are after smoking the herbal drug?

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t complete without a pint of Guinness,

My Irish family would disown me for claiming alcohol a drug.
