Is There God?

Is There God?

A Poem by Ranbir Singh
"

"Questions about His presence arise in every mind. Only a few get the answers"

"

Thirty three crore deities,

or only one God?
Where is He present?
And where is He not?

Is He close to us?
Or is He far apart?
Does He live in seventh sky?
Or is He close to heart?

How to cross this world?
How to reach the heaven?
By practicing monogamy?
Or by marrying seven?

How to meet the Lord?
How the soul shall awaken?
By avoiding beef?
Or not eating bacon?

Christian, Hindu, Muslim or Sikh,
which religion is best should we say?
Or to follow none,
and make our own way?

To wear the sacred thread?
Or the dagger by the side?
To keep the cross close to chest?
Or to get circumcised?

To shave off the moustache?
Or keep a Hindu pony tall?
To maintain unshorn hair?
Or to have none at all?

Are the Sikh Masters true?
Or is it Jesus Christ?
Are Hindu Avatars wrong?
Is Prophet Mohammad right?

Vedas, Bible, Quran or Holy Granth,

which text is the best?
Which one should we follow,
and leave the rest?

Who is more pious,
more adhered to religion?
He who kneels to West?
The one who waters Sun?

Where is the key to His puzzle?
In the truth or lies?
How to solve His enigma?
By questions or replies?

Can He be really seen?
Is it man who is blind?
The Creator of the world?
Or a creation of the mind?

One of the widest, deepest notions of the Divine seems to be that conveyed in Hindu dharma: the Divine is both form and formless, is above human ideas of morality [which are after all relative to context], in that creation, preservation and destruction are all part of the Divine Play. Even denial of the Divine is one of the branches of Indian philosophy. It also recognises that there are many paths to the One.

Regarding creation of the mind, it begs the question as to who or what created mind? A thought-provoking poem.

Thanks a lot, Solar.
For me, not only is God real...He also went in human form as Jesus to give all people the chance to know Him and believe His word. I was healed by Him after 10 years of seizures. It took that long for Him to convince me. Loving your fellow man should be foremost in all peoples and religions. Hatred gets us no where. Valentine

No offense here...your poem is really thought provoking. I think for me the question is who created religion? well that would definitely be man...and if there is a higher power...I personally believe in free will and they or he or she must most definitely laugh at us in the 'who has the direct ear of god' game when 'spirituality' would surely be celebrated in any form. Really love this poem.
