I Know Not What Love IsA Poem by think-through-penWHAT is love? It is free-verse poetry about the theme of love. Here, I've tried to describe a confused concept of love and an understood concept. I hope you love it.I know not what love is. I rummaged all the libraries and flipped page after page, frantically looking for this feeling that pains the human heart, and yet comforts with unsettling ease. The scientists gave theories of love, while philosophers spilt page-long definitions; the psychologists gave the "triangular theory of love". The 'what' is becoming a maze, an ever-tangling thread of disarray. Just then, I met an old couple. The old man was feeding his wife with a shaking spoon, a wrinkling hand under it. She pressed her lips to the spoon, he smiled at her. "This is love" words slipped out of my lips, and I sat down under a tree, all my knowledge spilling out, the books resurfacing as blank pages in my memory. © 2022 think-through-penAuthor's Note
