Do not try to silence meA Poem by Rayne Stantonfor those girls out there struggling with abusive relationships, don't let your voice disappear.Do not try to silence me, I will speak and I will be heard. The secrets you don't want released will become your darkest fears.
Do not try to silence me with bribes or gifts or threats, I will be heard across the world dispite the beatings and the hits.
Bruises cover my arms and legs still I'll continue to yell out my voice. Lock me away, cut into me with ropes, but still I made my choice.
Do not try to silence me with promises of love. To say it wont happen again, and again you come home drunk.
I love you still and always will, but I cant take it anymore. Don't come to look for me forever gone out your front door.
Do not try to silence me I will speak and will be heard. This story told to help prevent this happening to another girl. © 2011 Rayne StantonReviews
