My MonsterA Poem by CDI hurt through each hour of every day I ache through the night I need not hide the tears on my face From your blind sight
Remain obscure
I keep my monster locked up And have a cache of his lies His smile overshadows none Save the macabre mein of his eyes
You terrify me
This maintains his friendly guise He grows and clings to my skin And he finds a haunt in my life Unbeknownced to me, he tramples Every living entity within
My monster, you have a home
As I shut out all mortal beings I hear a voice not my own, It starts a hoarse whisper then screams "Consume!"
Power is yours,monster
Now,attempt to unearth my whereabouts You will fail I am in a state of destitution Where we hurt and never tell
I cannot let you in Full of this villian I call my friend He is selfish and vain And I believe he is right when he says that you are wrong
You are dispicable,my monster
I would not dare bare my heart Lest it be trampled upon By careless words thrown too far Spoken with an ignorant tongue
Ssshhh,my dear monster they will not speak
So here I lie in my bed of secrets Covered by a blanket of thorns Untouchable by appearance Evanescent through a veil of a mysterios vapor
My monster, why do you weaken me so?
Still you reach Not seeing the next step Still you search Not knowing where my heart of hearts is kept
You are my monster whom I despise
Be still, listen to the silence It rings out loud with the naked truth Your eyes strain for light;close your eyes Drift into my dark muse Lay aside what you believe should be And slowly, you will see- My monster
