A Lover's Woe

A Lover's Woe

A Poem by CD

Distance fills the chasm making time loom darkly
Yet she stares in wonderment with a face of meloncholy
What is a day a month or a year?Eternity awaits..
But the sweet smile on your face is what aches
It brings the tears and a want too strong
Minutes drag by and afternoons never leave
Living another day without you is too hard to believe
She strains her ears to listen to you laugh
Its only there in her heart and mind but it all comes back
For seconds,as her eyes close, she is with you
Everything is as clear as a drop of morning dew
Then the cloud moves in and you dissapear
The picture of you that I held so dear
The ringing laughter dies with a hush
And like an artists blank canvas yet to feel the brush
I see only white and streaks of grey
Every morning I open my eyes expecting a new day
But you aren't there...you aren't here
Each night I close my eyes but not before a tear
They slip unnoticed like the hurt I live through
All the while you are gone...and I'm still loving you
