Travelers Through The Dark

Travelers Through The Dark

A Poem by Connie W

Around a curve
on a mountain pass
Heart quickens
Sighs of relief

Cliffhanging
when you're afraid
to look down
Sweaty palms, breathing heavy
Feet land firm

Unknown hitchhiker
asking for a ride
Alone at sunset
with miles to go

These are the travelers
through the dark
These are the writers, poets,
sculptors, songwriters, artists
journeying day after day
searching for enlightenment
