![]() Summoner's OathA Poem by ATGA young man Drew a circle on the floor Preparing for a spell To summon a monster
The young man Was the apprentice To a great wizard Who taught him many things And who also hurt him For fun
The young man Opened a book And set it on the table Right next to the circle
The young man stayed with him For many years He was mistreated But he learned many things Like how to shoot lightning Out of his hands To set fire to things With only his touch And most of all He was taught How to bring creatures From another world To his And his master's
The young man stood Next to the circle And spoke Words of power Words that shook the earth And electrified the air
One day the master Hurt the man badly So bad The young man swore revenge While his master slept He slit his throat
A loud crack A jet of smoke And in the circle Appeared a beast With long black horns Bright red scaly skin Hooved feet And dark blue wings The beast stared at the man Then whispered words of power Word that heated the air Word that boiled the man's blood A large explosion And the circle of protection Drawn on the floor Was broken As the beast grabbed the man And choked the life out of him The young apprentice remembered Something his master told him A summoner's oath That all wizards knew And one he had forgotten Till this very moment
