Let Us Lead!

Let Us Lead!

A Poem by K. N. Graf

Times get tough, but we can change them

We can show people a new tomorrow

Help them move away from the wrong

And push them towards the right

It may not happen quickly,

But change can take a while

Some people just need someone to trust

And hold onto with all their might

We can be their beacon of light

And show them we're not all the same

They can't just stick us in a stereotype

We can be a powerful hope

Instead of a terrifying fear

One day when people don't know where to look

We can be there to help and guide them

Letting them know that we are strong

No one can make us crumble into the darkness

We won't let people tear us down with lies

People won't be able to look at us with distrust

Because we are tomorrow's hope

One can either stand up and be a leader

Or just let others tell them what to do

We will be that leader that everyone needs

Not some group of cowards trying to hide

Listen to what we say and all will be fine

Let us lead you through the rough times

Let today's youth be the answer, instead of the problem.

I truly loved this because it echoes my own thoughts and feelings. I just posted a piece called Leaving on the Light about the importance of good parenting and its impact on the future of the world...where love and integrity are passed from one generation to the next, great stuff here.
