Flashing Lights

Flashing Lights

A Poem by K. N. Graf

Light.

 Flashing brightly

  Through the windows

    Of her hospital room

     As she is lying alone

And wondering when she'll go home

     But she knows she can't

    Because she's too ill

   And time passes

  Too slow

Again

  But silently

   So very silently

    Time will stop completely

     And she knows deep inside

That it may not start again

    So she just sits alone

   Wondering about her life

  And the family

 She's leaving

Behind.

This is a very sad piece. I really love it, but at the same time, it's really, really sad. I hope I will never end up in a situation like that.
