"

brevity that speaks to the heart...

"

she wished

a gentle wind

would blow her kisses

upon his cheek

as a reminder

I have entered several contests at allpoetry.com These challenges require 20 words or less. There are some excellent lessons in brevity in these contests.

Light as air, but heavy on meaning.

I remember the "bouts" with Poetry.com (and their like) over 20 lines or less... and all the challenges over word counts at many sites and with many, many , world-bored-and-weary people. Seems so many "played" that for me the term clever took on a seriously bad vibe.

You touch a place
- not forgotten,
just... very wish-full.

more please.
