Dear God

One life to live,
tell me, is it that easy?
I got my bucket list,
I'm crossing off 'love deeply'.
And I'm not sure I've lived right,
but, I did my best.
And I want God to know this...

I'm not afraid of dying,
I'm afraid of leaving.
I would be lying,
if I said I wasn't trying.
I've had my doubts now and then,
I just hope to God there is a heaven.

I've dreamed of a better place,
and I wished upon a star.
And, I've cried in my pillow case,
hoping that heaven wasn't too far.
I'll miss this, I know for sure,
I just want to know if there's something more.
