The Deafening Words After

The Deafening Words After

A Poem by Reese
"

Like the fox that ventured into the meadows that ended in death.

"

It was still there,

The words;

If I really tried hard,

To stop, think, imagine.

I never lost what I thought I lost.

It was…

There;

It was a moment of a minute

That the words filled the blank page,

Ink ready to spill lines and curves,

Yet, in those ten sentences,

It was gone.

Like the fox that ventured into the meadows

That ended in death.

The death of words.

A deafening silence once again.
