New fashion show features Squamish designerA Story by Etrade Supply Smartphone PartsA Squamish designer is debuting her summer line high above Howe Sound next month. Trish James, the designer of Modern Revival, describes her clothes as having “a bit more mature boho look” that is trendy but still fits in perfectly with the laidback lifestyle in Squamish. The collection of tops and cheap evening dresses uk will be showcased at a fashion show at the Sea to Sky Gondola on Saturday, June 4, along with several other brands available at James’ downtown Squamish boutique, Stylezone Fashions. “There is a lot of print and a nice pop of colour. Think turquoise, coral and mint,” said James, who designed the line based on what’s popular among her customers. photos:http://www.marieprom.co.uk/formal-dresses In addition to Modern Revival, other brands in the fashion show, ranging from casual to upscale, include Dex, Bella Amore, LisetteL, Tribal, Mavi and Orb. The models, who all live in Squamish, will visit each table to explain what they are wearing. “I tossed around the idea [of creating my own label] for a couple years. I wanted to take Stylezone to the next level,” said James, adding she has been keeping a close eye on fashion trends and talking to customers since she opened the boutique 27 years ago. “My customers want to look really good. A little trendy, but not over the top because we’re in a small town.” Deciding on the best type of fabric to use is important when designing clothes, said James. “I go for the feel of the fabric. Something that when you put it on, you say, ‘Ahh, that feels great.’ It’s all about the touch.” After nearly three decades in business, James said she is confident to go with her instincts on whether a particular piece will be a hit with her customers in Squamish. A number of other local businesses are helping host the fashion show, including Concrete Blonde Hair and Body Studio, which will style the models’ hair, and Red Carpet Ready by Christina, which will help with fashion styling and makeup. “What I do is based on their outfit, personality and what they want to look like,” Christina Petry, owner of Red Carpet Ready, said of the models. “I do what she feels comfortable with to make her look awesome.” Tickets for the show are available at StyleZone Fashions on Pemberton Avenue. - See more at:http://www.marieprom.co.uk/evening-dresses © 2016 Etrade Supply Smartphone Parts |
