Chapter 2: Déjà vu

Peter gets answers for his dreams.

I quickly walk to the hospital and see my doctor, these nightmares are getting out of control…

As I wait for the doctor, people give me the look people give a crazy person, I calmly walk into the restrooms, I look in the mirror, I look like I haven’t taken a shower in weeks, I turn on the faucet and wash my face, I dry myself off and go back to the waiting room.

“Uh, Peter Salvum?” Dr. Iuvo asks

“That’s me” I say

“Alright, come on in” Dr. Iuvo says

Dr. Iuvo and I walk into the room and we both take a seat.

“Okay, so you have any questions?” He asks

“yes, I have been having weird dreams about this cube for a couple weeks now and the most recent one I just had… uh, I kinda woke up somewhere else than my bed” I explain

“Well, maybe you were sleep walking” He says

“I was in my normal cloths and not my sleepwear and I was outside in the city, someone would have noticed and helped me.” I say

“This is strange, have you taken some medicine you shouldn’t have taken?” He asks

“Not that I remember” I say

“Well… we can give you some tests and check in with you” He says

“Alright, sounds good” I say

After I took a couple of tests I go back home and Daniel and Sarah are not home yet, I guess I had some time to myself

A couple days later I go on my way back to the hospital to check in with Dr. Iuvo, I wait in the waiting room and the second I sit down Dr. Iuvo calls me in and we sit down in his office

“Um… Peter” he begins “We never had anything like this in Novus” he says catching my attention “Have you had any Déjà vu lately?” He ask

“Actually now that you mention it… yes… a lot” I say

Dr. Iuvo leans in and looks at me “We’re not sure what it is quite yet, but I got someone doing research and… so far he says you can look into the future” He says

“w-wait-“ I say, confused

“Now this might sounds rather peculiar and unlikely, but it seems that the dreams you have, come true, its exactly like déjà vu, but… you see it more clearly and it happens more frequently” He explains

“But none of my dreams have come true” I get interrupted

“Yet, it seems you had some other dreams that came true” he says

“Well, yes but its not like anything I’ve been seeing in my current dreams” I say

“Peter, having dreams that come true is rare already… what dreams are you having now? You said something about a cube” he clarifies

“yes, but… its not exactly clear yet, I don’t know what it means, its usually in the background, but it bothers me for some reason” I explain

“Oh?” he says

“But recently… I saw the cube, as big as the currently being built castle, falling from the sky, and then I saw all of Novus destroyed and…” I pause “and on the ground it was like a jet-black plaque on the ground with Gelida salutis Nigra per quadrum carved on it and after that I ended up by the toy store Daniel and I went to the other day” I say

Dr. Iuvo’s face was pale “lets wait a couple days and see if this is true” He said “No do not tell this to anybody, no one.” He says

“I won’t” I say

I walk home, and go to sleep, scared to know what my next dream will be.

I see Daniel, Sarah and… me. We are at the park, I’m pushing Daniel on the swing and Sarah watching, all of us with smiles on their faces, it brings a smile to my own.

I teleport to a different place, this time I see myself… in the woods, I’m crying, I’m staring into a tree, I walk around to see what it says…

It says “RIP Daniel and Sarah”

I wake up with tears in my eyes “This guy better be wrong” I whisper to myself “This guy better be f*****g wrong!” I yell on the top of my lungs
