Chapter 1: Nightmares

Peter's beginning to his peculiar dreams.

“I keep having these nightmares about this cube shaped… thing” I said.

“Why does it bother you so much?” Jon said

“I don’t know really, now that I think about it I see it every where in my dreams, weather it’s in the background or when its in front of my face.” I said

“You have any idea why you’re obsessed with it?” Jon asked

“Nope not a damn clue” I said

“You guys want another mug?” The bartender said

A mug was a giant cup of beer, and I already had enough “I’m good” I answered

“I’ll have another” said Jon

He had like 3 already, I’m actually getting stressed out just thinking of having to take care of him when he’s drunk.

“Don’t you think you had enough, Jon?” I said raising an eyebrow

he looks at me with an annoyed face “Nope” he said with a jokingly drunk accent “I’ve had like 1 mug” Jon said while holding up one finger

“You had 3, Jon” I said with a grin

“shut up” he said with a chuckle.

After we were done drinking we left the pub and we both went home.

“I’m home!” I yelled while I walked in

“Shh!” Sarah said “Dan is sleeping” she whispered

“Sorry” I whispered

“Want some dinner?” Sarah said while walking in the kitchen

“No thank you, I had something to eat at the pub” I said

“Ok, you still have those nightmares?” Sarah asked

“Yeah…” I said quietly

“You want to talk about it?” She said while walking up to me

“Not really, I don’t even know what I’m stressed about” I said.

then we went to bed and I really don’t know what I was being stressed about, I don’t know why that specific type of cube is in my dreams, there’s just something about it that bugs me.

“AAHHH!” I yell as I bounce out of bed

“What’s wrong?” Sarah asked

“It’s nothing… Just that damn cube” I quietly answered

Sarah rubs my back “It’s all right now try to get some sleep” she said,

I didn’t say anything so I lay down, this time in my dream the cube… it was in the sky, and it was big, almost as big as the almost done castle and it was falling from straight up, it wasn’t burning up or anything it was just falling, but after about 30 seconds of watching it fall, then I woke up.

Today was my day off so I thought it would be fun to go get Daniel something from the store “here you go Daniel, 30 bits, get whatever you want” I said

“Thanks dad!” Daniel said while he ran off to the store isles

I follow him, he starts looking through the toys, he gave me this big wooden train and a dart gun

“Now, is this what you want?” I asked

“Yes” Daniel answered with joy

I went up to the cashier “that will be 25 bits” the cashier said

I gave him the bits and looked to my son “You know, I still have 5 bits left, want to go get a drink?” I asked

“Yes” said Daniel,

We go and get mango juice, his favorite, and then I drop him off saying hi to Sarah and going off to work on the castle

Jon and I start working on one of the guard posts on right side of the front of the castle “so did you have another cube nightmare?” asked Jon

“Actually I did, but this one was different” I said while getting Jon’s attention

“The cube was falling from the sky, and it’s almost as big as this castle” I said

After about 10 hours of work we get a small portion of the tower done, we spent most of our day talking anyway, I go home noticing no ones home. Sarah is probably out getting Dan something, it feels late but its only 7:30, I go to sleep, I wake up and its morning, Sarah and Daniel still are not home, at this point I’m really worried, I search everywhere then I go back home to think things through, I go in the kitchen to get me some water and I see a note on the counter

“Peter, Daniel and I went to the fair and we will be staying there for about a week, see you soon!” I’m such a dumbass I thought to myself, sigh in relief.

I wasted my day off because of that, I go back to sleep

I see myself in a snowy area there are broken buildings covered in snow, I look around, Holy s**t… what happened here? Looks like everything just collapsed I look at the ground to see a black square in the ground, congelata salutis causatur ab niger quadratum it said it shot up into the air and I looked up quick and looked around and everything was back to normal I’m not even in bed anymore I’m out side I’m in new cloths in stead on my sleep ware and I’m in front of the store Dan and I went to the other day.
