Rememberance

Rememberance

A Poem by workingmyeunoia
"

This is a poem with the narrator recalling everything they ever loved about the one that got away.

"
I think I'll remember you by your eyes-
Because you only looked me in them when you told a new lie.
I think I'll remember you by your nose-
Because you always scrunched it up when you'd let me go.
I think I'll remember you by your jaw-
Because when you stole my heart that night, you broke the law.
I think I'll remember you by your lips-
Because sometimes you'd let them brush across my finger tips.
I think I'll remember you by your hands-
And how you pulled me close with our first slow dance.
I think I'll remember you by your toes-
Because you said you weren't happy so this time I let you go.
I think I'll remember you for who you are-
Because now I'm seeing what I didn't before.
You were my anchor, just holding me back
And now that you're gone, my life is in tack.
