We are all just fallen stars.

We are all just fallen stars.

A Poem by freshwatermermaid (eglantine)

Again, I am awake.

Nightmares coat my subconscious like moss

I’m unable to pick off. There is no amen in slumberland

Neptune sleeps deep within the soil of the soul,

away from mulberry lamplight, praying for sunrise.

Now I lay me down to sleep.

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

There are blackberry stains on the dove-white

pages of my bible. They remind me of salamander eyes.

See me safely through the night

and wake me with the morning light.

I might be a bit rusty--have been going through a bad case of writers block :(

I`ve always believed that the "writers block" are the good omens of literature. We generate some new things from there. e.g you`ve pen`d down such a deep write. And.. even such things happen to me too, when i`m dealing with writers block... I know, it`s hard to write .. even a single word but then, I set up my mind and start getting blowing to the direction of writers block. In others words, I do start writing stuffs on "Writers block" rather than collecting any new version of my new write and.. It works! And.. see, it works for you either even it works for everyone, we just gotta take some time to give some break to life. Nice poem! Good to read!

nosuchthing as writers block; maybe you need to fall in love.

I think the last line is out of place. It could be the title or maybe a second line.

As I say to many people, I want to know more. I know you can write, but I wish you wouldn't get so caught up in the perfect simile or image.

I hate that the world is predictable. That line just earned me a point.

If this is the beginning of breaking that writer's block, this is an amazing start. I really loved this poem today. Your style is very magical and enlightening.

Haha, I hope so--it's been very frustrating. Thank you for reading :)
You have such a depth and passion in your writing... always have... you take fragments of the concrete and blend them so perfectly to fragments of the imagination... Profound and moving..
