Potential Energy

I’m flying through 

the fourth dimension 

all of my atoms

and all of my energy 

haphazardly 

strung along 

enduring waves of 

continuous change 

things begin and end

and rearrange 

and however 

unlikely it may be 

I’ve taken a liking 

to our chemistry 

since you happened to 

bump into me 

on your mortal course 

with equal but opposing force 

granting us a moment

to take the time to notice 

one another 

moving fast on our 

parallel paths 

beholden to 

the mechanics of 

molecular attraction

or some quantum satisfaction

I have to say 

I’m grateful for

the chance for interaction
