An Unwanted Visitor

An Unwanted Visitor

A Poem by Laura
"

When depression creeps up on you

"
It had once left
gone and drowned
head on

Now this demonic beast has returned
So I learned
Eating me up from the inside

I fall back into blackness
and it tears at my soul
To face it is my goal

Dwelling in my stomach like a cave
My mind won't behave

It can't stay and destroy me
Slithering like a snake
and I don't know how much more
I can take

You uncoil your poisons
and spit out your venom
leaving nothing

I disapprove of this habitant
gnawing at me to the bone
this is not your home

The air is left polluted
acidic to the taste
I am trapped within
what a waste

This is the poetry of death
As I am driven to my own
Only you will be thrown

Plucked from its nest
full of zest

Do you have a face?
dehumanized
Not even a mask
I will complete my task
