Simple

Simple

A Poem by words a la carte
"

Simple things.

"

The sound of a curtain flapping in the wind

The bright blue sky outside her door

The scent of freshly mowed grass

A day just like many others.

But so beautiful in its own simple way.

The brush of a mother's loving hand across her hair

The swell of emotions within her heart

The way her steps falter on the aisle.

A girl just like many others.

But so unique in her own simple way.

The weight of a ring on her finger

The shine of a diamond as it catches the light

The warmth of his hand on hers

A scene like many others.

But the story is simply their own.

Simply beautiful! The structure and scheme is very nice and attractive. I'd prefer the very last line to match lines 5 and 10 in structure, but that's just me being nitpicky.

This was a nice poem! However, I do have to point out that at the end of the first stanza, "it's" shouldn't have an apostraphe. Also, isn't it freshly mown grass instead of mowed? But I liked all the imagery. Good work!
