Until We Meet Again

Until We Meet Again

A Poem by wordman

Apple blossoms in the spring

the tenderness of a gentle rain

the smell of honeysuckle on it`s vine

the sweet taste of black berry wine

A warm fire flickering in the night

sitting here with you feels so right

a blanket of snow covering the ground

as the snow comes falling down

Sleigh ride in the park

looking at lights after dark

the tenderness of your sweet kiss

these are things i will reminess

Walking hand and hand on a summer day

the breeze blowing through your hair

in a special way

A walk around the creek

stopping to feed the fish

these are things i will reminess

The sound of your voice

the gentleness of your touch

i miss you so much

I still see the twinkle in your eye

the morning you said goodbye

a smile on your face

angels singing amazing grace

So my darling i will say good nite

and never good bye to my best friend

till we meet again...

Delightful write, Ron. Looks like I timed my visit well. So much fabulous penning on show today:) This verse does not disappoint.

Hi Wordman. Nice quiet Saturday, thought I would take a look at one of your heartfelt poems. And yes, I fully agree. Sometimes we meet people in our lives that have such a strong impact in our lives that - we are just feel so incredibly empty in their absence.

There is a lot of truth to the statement, "'tis better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all." Yet ... the painful memories - those which are the most painful - are often those remembering good times than now can never be. I think we have all gone through this and must - in our own way - find ways of coping. But the tears are always there ...

As you are using the word twice I though I would let you know, it is "reminisce." Yeah that's entirely not spelled like it sounds. :) I have trouble with words like this too so no worries.

Gold star work here, Wordman. Lovely meaning, lovely rhyming, beautifully chosen painting and accompanied music. Rating: 100/100.

Such a sweet, well crafted write. I love the beautiful imagery used here. It is always hard to say goodbye to someone you love so dearly. Harder still to say goodbye to someone who didn't give you the chance to say goodbye.
Nicely penned.

So well written Ron. Very beautiful imagery contained even in the sadness of the words. ~Sharon

This is so lovely and yet so sad. What wonderful memories were made and will last forever.

The title and sympathetic point of view remind me of why I like the old music of WWII. I read your poem but see Vera Lynn in flickering monochromatic beauty. So nicely done, thank you.
