Memories

Memories

A Poem by wordman

In the misty waters

of my mind,

i reminisce of the hallowed,

memories that i left behind.

Once as vivid

as night and day

now only misty memories

slowly fading away

Fading away

like a gentle breeze

on a summers day

but it seems everything fades away

Even those

hallowed memories

of me and you,and the feelings,

that we once knew...

Very nicely conveyed lines. Full of sentiment Ron. Like your choice of music too. Have a good weekend.

thank you for reading
This is a beautifully written poem you have here. The flow is just perfect and honestly, I dont even mind the lowercase 'i's (although that might be a good change) the description really brings you to a journey in the back of your mind. A nostalgic, sad and kinda bitter memory we watch unfold in the crevests of your brain. Well done!

I dont remember the details of each day...just the intensity of them. I dont remember what brought about the end..just the sorrow of it. I dont remember who fell in love first ....I just remember that it brings and smile to my heart. Love these words and feelings!

However we try, can never recreate the moment which becomes a memory and after little longer fades away. Lovely short and sweet composition.

Having produced an epic poem known as Seasons of Black September then Shadow of Dys within my first collection -- I will give you some insight about the WritersCafe era before the poetry became more dominate here. During the era I first introduced the namesake roster -- two of them came from here as Tabloid Purposes IV a few also emerged here too. A lot of the writers have cult followings and seen a blind eye from the industry factions. If you never tried writing a short story, don't knock it. The piece you reviewed from the pastor was no poem but a narrative journal. Study anthology publications because that's been the print platform for short stories for years. I never published short poems in publications but seen an epic poem in the pages of a literary journal where two of them are in circulation. The reason one is a historic document; the publisher is an illustrator and an author himself. I gripe because way too many poets and not enough journalists.

I like how you described the memories as "fading away like a gentle breeze" because while it's sad it doesn't seem hopeless just something that happens to us and we accept it. So overall love the poem
