Last Train to Georgia

Last Train to Georgia

A Poem by wordman
"

Last train to Georgia
do i board
or stay here with you
i need someone to tell me what to do

I don`t know any more
i really don`t know how i feel
was it ever love
was it ever real

I am confused
in my own mind
you have run me down so much
i think i`m blind

I really don`t know
who i am anymore
i`m afraid to make a decision
i`m really not sure

Would it really be me
it seems i was a different person years ago
but it`s been so long
i really don`t know

If i board
or if i stay
would it be the right decision
if i made it today

How much longer can i wait
the train is boarding at the gate
not sure who i am anymore
it may already be to late...

It's not a coincidence that this one poem of yours is the first one on which I leave a comment. Thoughts have flowed through my mind recently about a lost chance, a lost love and here is your poem. I read a quote just yesterday that 'it may hurt to let go but it will hurt more to hang on'. Let go.

Thnx for the read.

I feel sometimes this hiccup is necessary to hold the thing more tightly for which we care the most..I think there will be none who could not relate to it at least once in their lifetime..a very genuine picture with a beautiful tensile tone in words,,it's beautiful

Sadly often hopping the train is the only sound choice - because staying is much to painful

we never lose anything we never had,we belong to no one,and no one to us
You have captured a life changing moment. I have been here. There is so much emotion written in your lines. I can actually feel the tug of war between the loyalty of a longtime Love and wanting Freedom.

Sheer Terror

thank you for reading,i appreciate it
I can feel the stress, angst and weight of indecision in this. Yes the nagging weight of it - like a scale back & forth. The ending adds to that feeling even more. Cool title. Feeling well-captured indeed.

welcome. my pleasure wm.
I really enjoyed reading this. The manic flow, and the haute tension of it was magnificent..truly superb! This poem very much applies to a personal situation I've been in for the past year involving my son and his mother. I relate to every line, and this poem really conveys that sense of emotion we feel..especially after we've gone through "war" with another individual, and now we're left with the aftermath, along with a series of questions in our head and who "we really are." KUDOS! (=

brian,i appreciate your review , and i agree hundred percent
"should I stay or should I go, if I go there will be trouble, if I stay it will be double" well so much for the Clash song... love sometimes does this to you, confusion reigns... too often we stay longer than we should and it isn't good for both people... enjoyed the tension and dilemma in this poem Ron..
