Suicide

I heard the ambulance

as it flew down the road

somehow I knew it was you

deep in my soul

I didn't want to believe

but I knew it was true

you showed signs for days on end

I guess it just didn't sink in

that you would take your life

you would leave your children your wife

now what will they say

to the children at school

what will your wife say

to your mom and dad

that they would never see you again

would be so sad

so before you say good bye

give life a try

and just remember

when you pull the trigger

it`s your family that will have to remember...

This one gave me chills. I can't imagine the pain of this loss. The grief that will forever be etched on the minds and hearts, of the ones he left behind.

I imagine it would be quite stigmatic to try to notify family and loved ones of such a tragic event. Death of any loved one would be especially traumatic, but suicide would have to be even worse; the self-blame game would be in full force amongst all survivors. Sad. take care...dan

Its really sad when people commit suicide.
I could never wish this fate even upon my worst enemy.
The saddest part is that it leaves the family shattered and wondering.
Your poem was painfully beautiful.

This reminds me of my downstairs neighbor who died. She was really old and didn't kill herself, but when I was walking home I saw the ambulance it and knew it was for her. This is a good piece of work, it has a very touching message and can serve as an eye opener for anyone who is hurting to that point.

:( I'm trying not to cry. I know the pain of losing someone in this way...I think if they understood that they are transferring their pain to everyone who love them..... maybe more would think again. I don't know.
