Till We Meet Again

Apple blossoms in the spring

the tenderness of a gentle rain

the smell of honey suckle on it`s vine

the sweet taste of strawberry wine.

 

A warm fire flickering in the night

being here with you feels so right

a blanket of snow covering the ground

as the snow comes falling down.

 

Sleigh ride in the park

looking at Christmas lights after dark

the tenderness of your sweet kiss

these are things I will reminess.

 

Walking hand in hand on a summers day

the breeze blowing your hair in a special way

 

A walk around the creek

stopping to feed the fish

these are things I will reminess

 

The sound of your voice

the gentleness of your touch

I miss you so much

 

I can still see the twinkle in your eye

the morning you said goodbye

a smile on your face

angels singing amazing grace

 

So my darling I will bid you goodnite

and never good bye to my best friend

until we meet again...

Love that once was, now dead and gone, forever in our hearts, still lingers on. No matter what causes the separation, its hard to loose one you love and the heart still replays those early days over and over on video loop in our minds. The spit in the center of this was nice. It changed the pace for a moment, kinda like a change in though.

Guess this is impossible from my phone..so first task of the morning.

Your words have touched me, wordman, every line. There is s sweet longing in these lines that remind me of my father and how he lived eleven years after my mother's passing. I know he shared many of the sentiments you describe here and I remember him saying often that he should have left this world with my mother. Your friend is a man swallowed by love that will not dissipate and you have penned such love nicely.
