But there's goin to be a revolution

But there's goin to be a revolution

A Poem by Erin Sky
"

Title refers to the verse that goes "But there's goin to be a revolution / the yout talk about it all day long / it is inhaled in every spliff / it detonates in every system" from "Springblade" by Kamau Brathwaite.

"

suck it in, bring it deep and sturdy

this hand-stinging, eye-clinging smell

of children in the rough, sleeping on diamonds

buried

aye, e’ery rebels son, e’ery fated daughter

rises toward the coming sun

lights the green, green lives afire

suck it in, spicy winter air

soil red like the skin of those you kill

peace pipes and poverty

no more Christmas cards and cheap smokes

rally on cobbled streets

this is revolution

is voice volition

hyperion slips, glowing, through eyelash bars

speculates and liberates on a wind at sunrise

I flicker between hating and liking this, is it understandable?
