Sing

Sing

A Poem by Erin Sky
"

Across the Universe is a brillant movie: 'Music's the only thing that makes sense anymore, play it loud enough and it keeps the demons at bay'

"

Reach from deep in the diaphragm

And thrust it forth

This life shattering noise

The words that work like roots

Cobbled stones where fact and levy once stood

And green bonds to crush them gainst earths bosom.

As they must and explode, a rainbow sort of blood

That shines, and circles back, to the watchful eye

This tap root to the heart, gives pain and peace

To the inner stuff of golden fleece.
