colours of earth

colours of earth

A Poem by Erin Sky
"

"I don't know where the sunbeams end and the starlights begin / its all a mystery..."

"

The concrete rivers lapped o’er and o’er

by the sea, where woods and strings

become entwined, and part

in perfect time

It gets into your soul, like cheap shot rhyming and Magritte

beautiful waters, beautiful waters

twirl the sunsets in my love’s tresses

as she lays, hairfirst in the ocean, star-gazing

See her roam over this unknowable place

of verse versus verse,

it locks eyes with my heart

in green and white and blue

(the colours of the earth, that’s how I think of you)
