Parade rest

Parade rest

A Poem by Joel M Frye
"

A response to "Sad Bravado" by fargone...a twin brother by a different mother. I feel ya, bro.

"
As days and years in slow parade
pass by the stand to which I'm bound,
the voices of old friends who've left
echo, dimming, memories fade
to shiv'ring silence, where I've found
a yearning for the young earth's warmth.

How we long for those days of our youth and the friends we held dear. Well done

Melancholy. Inevitably, if one strings together enough days, there comes a time when "old friends who've left" are, in reality, the only friends we have.
Luckily, we always carry our own world around with us.

Short and straight to point. Great!
