Kashmir

Kashmir

A Poem by Wordcrafter

A brilliant spectrum of cloud and snow
the world below
a vanishing dark spot

and come the night, if it wasn’t so cold
I would have dipped a hand in lake Dhal
to pull out the moon
and let it thaw by the warm fire

it would have been so easy
to reach up to the sky and scoop
some stars to carry in my pocket,

but I didn't. Now how can I
ever describe to you
what a spring night is like, in Srinagar?

as someone who has recently traveled to the area in reference, I feel you captured it brilliantly. You capture imagery well, but then elevate it to the next level of actually achieving a perspective....thank you for this bit:

that is an amazing bit of poetry.
