No Fear

No Fear

A Poem by Woody Moore

No Fear

By Woody Moore

The Psalm says, yeah though I walk…

In reality I walk not through the valley of death,

I walk surrounded by death.

It is all around me and stands ready ahead of me not too far in the distance.

Death is present through the animals I love,

The young people and the old.

In cancer and suffering that never seems to end.

Yet, all of a sudden when I blink they are called home.

Then ever before me I realize

It is waiting and drawing nearer and nearer.

I must take pills and diet and quit living to keep life.

Time has become so precious and short.

I have sat and held the hand of a few

Where the Angel of Death is present.

Still in the same room, His Spirit overwhelmed and left me no doubt

There is hope to be found even in the presence of death.

Since Adam we are born breathing air.

It sustains our bodies for a while.

Yet at some point I believed,

Then His Spirit breathed on me eternity without end.

So in this land of death,

I walk without real fear.

It is because I have hope.

It is no light at the end of the tunnel, but the light in an empty tomb!

I really like the transition of character development, going from being scared and not living to stay alive to having hope. On a personal level I find this quite inspirational too so thank you :)
