we all find the fire attractive, there is an allure about doing what you shouldn't be doing because it can have grave consequences and it's the thrill that motivates us.

how about "the shape of fire" at the end. fire and light kind of imply each other. we all know it's light and pretty and s**t. nix light. SHAPE. that's an imperative.

lol, love your comment, insects are fascinating. I am so glad that you added what it was (as much as I loooove to look things up, I am glad to have it readily available so I can concentrate on the message.)
Moths to a flame, ahhh yes, is it every creatures destiny to fly into the purifying flame? it does seem :) love it!!

Fatal attractions are our downfall, as instinctive as the moth to the flame! love it. beautifully succinct words of poetic wisdom, smiling at you, Tai

Better to burn out ..than fade awayyy.. Love the idea for a book for "insect" poetry W M

Maybe the mohoe 'knows" its own extremely temporary nature. Going out in such a manner seems far superior to a crushing swat, becoming another creature's dinner or too soon being stilled by the curse of a very short life span. Why not crash and burn--or, in this case--burn and crash? Blaze of glory, and all that rot. (Actually, blaze of glory, and none of that rot.)
In any event, if life is the flame and we are mohoes, we should now be performing an extended, decidedly steep kamikaze dive.
Fascinating, WM!

This is so strange..the other night at a bon fire a white moth hit my shoulder and I thought oh how pretty...then it flew straight into the flame.. I thought too .. about life, relationships and the touch and burn we all experience.. It all makes me wonder..xo

In all the different types of poetry and novels I have read, I have never quite seen the butterfly used in this form. It had a big impact on me, and it saddens me to know that instincts can kill ones own self. Well done.

It may be short but it makes a big impact, at least on me. I can't really say much more than that! Very nicely done!
