A Phoenix

A Phoenix

A Chapter by Wondering Mind
"

Rondel

"

To new horizons, to wide open skies

These dreams will dance and fly

And welcome love without surmise

Or doubt that may deny

Worries to wane and hope to rise

Soar high in heavens shall I

To new horizons, to wide open skies

These dreams will dance and fly

Though death may dangle its defy

to mortal make and earthly eyes

a phoenix  anew I will arise

look beyond what mortal eyes espy

to new horizons, to wide open sky

you could almost make me like rhyme with this one...i love how you use "surmise" and "espy"
your rhyme works here...fits...the words add to the poem subtly, rather than drawing attention because of the rhyming effect.
Nicely done...
and expressing such hope that dreams can come true.

I like this, this is song lyrics, a ballad.. isn't it.. I totally enjoyed this.
the rhyme and rhythm each line down with the same syllable -
must be difficult. you do the rhymes without force, quite naturally flowing.
loved.

Serah's got the right of it... The muse works her magic through your word and forms beauty at her best in those thousands of ones and zeros... Perhaps that makes no sense... I am...uplifted...by this poem. In fact, I think I should like to make these wings held to my back by wax a little more permanent so I can experience what you are envisioning. Yes, this poem makes me to want to fly.

. oh, that's absolutely scintillating poetry and amazingly, amazingly inspiring ... and the last two lines ... oh gosh ... those are the two most potent tequila shots ever ... and that too consecutive ones ... beautifully felt, written and received ...
