Shadows

Shadows

A Chapter by Wondering Mind

My glass has out drunk this bottle

Shadows shimmy across the wall

Life like laminations of lifelessness

Funny how the flicker of a candle

Flirts with the imagination!

And I want more

to drink more delusion

Drown deeper in this dizziness

Dance

Before my candle burns out.

Before they stop

Those shimmy shadows on the wall

love the alliteration, it suits the writing well. Makes it symmetrical of sorts. I love the candle, flirting with the imagination.. sexual fire.. lol =) great writing

I've been feeling that every few hours for some reason. No idea why. This poem makes me want to set up a desk in a room with no electricity, light some candles, and see what I come up with. Awesome work.

- oh there are some really great images your words conjure here - and i agree with james - the alliteration is praiseworthy - for me - the even more fascinating aspect of your poem is how it speaks directly to the reader - and that last stanza - is breathtaking!! beautiful, vivid and delicate!

Alliteration is the fascination of this poem and I like it. Like a presentation firearm engraved with filigree, the attention is somewhat focused on the craftsmanship rather than the purpose but I am a detail lover. Quality is always worth analysis.
