My Lovely Rose

My Lovely Rose

A Chapter by Wondering Mind

For her, sovereign of all my state

Who rules the heart with gentle grace

With smiles that win once they bait

A queen she reigns my time and space

Whispers of wine, her lips they lure

And eyes with promises of paradise

A  heavenly hint of sweet sky's azure

Both sugar and spice, and fire and ice

By day my sun, by night my moon

My star of love, she shines and glows

Like Jupiter I feel and she my June

My eden, my eve, my lovely rose

A beautiful poem about a favourite rose. I have one called the Dublin Rose which is also a deep red. It holds wonderful memories for me.

Wonderful job the rhyme is pleasant to the ears when read aloud and not over played, the images you penned were simple and beautiful.
