Promises of a New Rise

Promises of a New Rise

A Chapter by Wondering Mind
"

My hometown to which I'm not "allowed" to return

"

Grant me your eastern delight,
let me wake to
promises of a new rise,
     whispers of time old tales,
                           the spicy tastes,
                                    the exotic essences,
                                the purest of gold,
the dark mystery in your eyes.

Let me forget in your warmth
the cold sunset of the west
the false glittery gold
                         and all the rest.

Come, let my heart rest,
            I crave your clear skies.

I long for the beauty in your eastern eyes

Oh, this brings tears to my eyes....how difficult it must be for you to be exiled from your land! My heart indeed aches as I read of your lament, and deep desires to return to that which is your home!
My feeble words are but my effort to let you know that I am sorry, and that your longing for that which you may not have does not fall on a cold heart! Tears of compassion!

That was beautiful. It brought so much to mind, it made me think of rolling green hills, the warmth and comfort of a lit fire, traveling to places like China or India, there was so much going on with such a simple idea. It never strayed from topic but brought so much into the poem that just added to its depth.
