Tears with a Dove

Tears with a Dove

A Chapter by Wondering Mind

Whistle with the winds
                       On a cold winter day
Embrace trees in spring
                Surrender and simply sway

Howl with a lone wolf
                       On a full moon night
Smile to summer sky
As she brings birth to light

Make music to the moves
                Of a falling autumn leaf
Share with the sharks
The beauty of a coral reef

I’ve enjoyed life’s grace
            With heart, spirit, and mind
And cried tears with a dove
                   As it mourned mankind

Perfect ending! I have a strong preference to endings. I find them to be the straw -- that makes or breaks the poetic camel's back. Your ending perfected this poem. Indeed!

A lovely piece throughout -- finding appreciation in all of life's beauty -- nature -- yet acknowledging all that is ugly and wrong at the same time -- as doves cry -- so do I. Beautifully done!

ah!!! this is real eloquence coupled with real depth!!! life is often too vast for us to begin exploring the truth in the moment - the moment itself - and right here - your sparkling pen - has brought the truth of moments to life! there is inspiration in abundance - an honesty that is rare - joy waiting to be uncovered - you turn the seemingly mundane into the unquestionably extraordinary - with a masterful ease!! exquisite beauty - and unlimited inspiration - both find a warm abode in this stunning poem!!!

The wonderings of one of my favorite minds...such peace and beauty from the gifts of Allah(swt) to be enjoyed while recognizing the balance of good and evil only to say it must be so...Alhamdulillah...All Praises to our Rabb that created such things and for those who would embrace them even in such a time as this!

Perfect poem period! Hauntingly beautiful! The last two lines "But cried tears with a dove, as it mourned mankind" 'For me', the dove means God mouring his creation. But that's just my way of thinking. :) Thanks for sharing this awesome piece with us.

Smile to summer sky
As she brings birth to light

Above lines are insperational, the whole poem is smooth and warm. You have captured the beauty of life and ended with the reality of ugliness of mankind can leave us mourning.

Well written piece.

Odd is it not that mother nature and her creations are so beautiful... when we as mankind may not have such a beautiful side? Mother nature and her creatures do what is needed for survival.. not trapped by greed or the need for a power trip. Mankind can be trapped by so much... greed, power, and fame.
We can forget sometimes.. our fellow man.. to reach out and give a helping hand. It makes the doves cry and we should crying along too..

A simple and elegant piece.. in contrast to my wordy musings tonight. I do hope you will forgive. :)
