The Land of Dreams

The Land of Dreams

A Chapter by Wondering Mind

the sea;
her waves caressed
these old forgotten shores.
gently,
she wiped away
abandoned footprints
where love once walked

the wind;
her soft whispers blew
a cool summer breeze
soothingly
dancing with blossoms
of my tender emotions

the moon;
her face cast
a soft, dreamy glow
on the canvas
of my open heart

the night;
she sang a lullaby
gracefully
sending my mind
to far away lands
of beautiful dreams

Your words provided such a soothing, dreamy departure that I felt myself blink at the last word ~ surprised to find myself . . . well, . . . where I am. How each element of nature's glory set the mind to absolute peace is brilliant. "the sea;/her waves caressed/these old forgotten shores." Yes, you had me at the first line.

Beautifully done. A place I would love to wander to most often. Thank you for this.

Such beautiful imagery evoked here. I was there, in that beautiful dream, looking at the moon, hearing the wind, feeling the sea. I want to stay there and not return to this reality we know and trust. I want to be far away.......

Thank you for your beautiful words.

Lovely! I love all those nature pics you choose as they all are part of my life and i specially like:
"the night;
she sang a lullaby
gracefully
sending my mind
to far away lands
of beautiful dreams"
as for me the night is always a way to "clean up" problems and journey through the beautiful dreams!

Oh my! I am absolutely floating in the sea you write of, as your words are comforting, and give needed solace to my spirit. It makes me feel as if I want to cuddle up under a warm down comforter with the soft glow of candlelight flickering images on the ceiling at my bedside, and a bouquet of fragrant roses in a crystal vase ready to unfold their blossoms to release their aroma into the air as I drift off to sleep!
Beautiful, just beautiful!!
Sheila........dreaming!

WM, this tender and beautiful write is more than just a love ballad, this is a painting you cleverly created with words. I love how you included The sea, the wind, the moon, the night and everything that made them resemble her... again adding nature to fully explain a transcendent love. Heart warming and truly a work of art.

Wow how romantic an lonely all at the same time as one lovers memories of his love...... What a beautiful picture you have written!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think my favorite part would have to be
the sea;
her waves caressed
these old forgotten shores.
gently,
she wiped away
abandoned footprints
where love once walked

What memories your poems bring back to me every time I read one. The imagery is always so vivid, it's as though I'm living that moment all over again. Well done! P.W.
P.S. Sweet Dreams!
