Liminal Spaces

Liminal Spaces

A Poem by Pepper
"

I had to sit in a designated spot for 15 minutes and observe what happened. Here are the notes.

"
Pretty quiet.
Echo-y.
People are mapping out their
Futures down the hall.
The shoe sounds footsteps are louder here.
The clock is broken. It only has one hand.
People don't come through. They only pass by.
I JUST SAW A BUG
This place is definitely not supposed to be real.
A man came out of his room and gave me a weird look. I'm supposed to be here.
People have to come here every day.
When did this stop feeling like the hallway of the world to them?
It smells like a library
But if a library was made of linoleum and had a cat.
It's 10:52 but it feels like it's been hours.
Boy footsteps are louder than girl footsteps.
Two women talking about being late.
They can't be late if they stay here.
Time doesn't exist here.

Pepper
I mean I think this is a poem. I'd hardly consider it a chapter of anything.
