OOPSA Story by Paul Sherlockpicture if you will a small Police Station, a fed up Sargent and Halloween night
In the local paper today was a story written using information received from an eye witness
It was a cloudless night, the wind was howling and moon was full, branches whipped against the walls of the Merry dale Police Station, when all of a sudden BANG the door caught by the wind slammed open, it bounced to and fro for a few moments until in strode a dwarf of a man 4 ft 6 inches and 6 stone soaking wet but supplied with a love for life of someone twice as big . A cheery voice shouted “ got another one for you Sarge” and walked towards the desk with a man in handcuffs (which due to a mistake at the suppliers contained more silver than they should) the Sarge looked up and said “ oh God not another bloody wannabe vampire, I hate Halloween night, how many is that so far tonight?” “three Sarge” said Constable Smith “ all Right put him with the others in the cells for the night, we'll sort them out in the morning when they have sobered up a bit” Constable Smith went carefully down the stairs so there would be no reports of people "accidentally" falling down the stairs and unlocking his handcuffs pushed him in the cell and left him there with the other, what the sarge had called the other wanna be Vampires, calling out a cheery and bright "see you in the morning", he made sure the Cell door was locked, the cross on the wall straight and then went back upstairs for his cocoa. No one is still not sure what happened, the Police report showed that there was a lot of noise and shouting just before dawn then silence, they assumed the prisoners had finally decided to sleep it off, last check was at 4 am and they all seemed okay then said senior Constable Smith who was in charge of prisoners on that night. He was further heard to say according to sources within the Police station that all they know, is that come morning when they opened the cell doors all they found were ashes all over the floor and that the cleaners were refusing to clean them up. © 2012 Paul Sherlock |
