Dreamland Darkness

Dreamland Darkness

A Poem by Midnight Wolf

Tick-tock, tick-tock whispers the clock
That lulls my wondering mind
Leaving reality at the dock
I sail away to Dreamland

Shadows begin to creep around
Revealing a moonlit sky
'Twas sunset when first came the sound
Of their rhythmic dance inching toward me

So swift and graceful the shadows motion
I soon came to the notion that the creatures' skill
Is nothing more than a hallucination
For I may have fallen ill

There comes the sound of pouring rain
Beating itself into my brain
As a crackling fire shoots to the sky
Finally lighting the shadows

At the moment I see Darkness' face
Without a trace or explanation
The fire explodes, casting a light
Too bright to any longer see

And then I awake
