Grave With No Name

Grave With No Name

A Poem by Mr. Lou

The grave sits at the edge of the world,
among other nameless stones,
waiting for the next exhausted soul
to come sit in its soil bed it has made.

Dreams burn bright within my ambitious
heart,
staying the fate of the nameless grave.
How long can I hold on?
I am diseased with a tiredness of much
weight,
my body holds something terrible that pulls
me down,
a demon, or a hungry sin,
feeding on my will.
Not the angel on my back nor god seem
to pity me.

I want to live!
have my name among the minds to come
forever!
The tide of death cannot be eluded.
A fact never to be disputed,
but my name must live on,
A grave will have me, and so will stone,
but the grave on the edge of the world will
not touch me.
